# ICD-O-3

> The French edition of ICD-O-3 for cancer registry coding

The French edition of ICD-O-3 for cancer registry coding. Around 1,600 codes across two axes: topography (C-codes) and morphology (M-codes).

## Quick start

System identifier: `icdo3fr`

```python title="Python" theme={null}
import requests
# Replace these with your values
ENVIRONMENT = "<eu-or-us>"
TENANT = "<your-tenant-name>"
TOKEN = "<your-access-token>"
response = requests.post(
    f"https://api.{ENVIRONMENT}.corti.app/v2/tools/coding/",
    headers={
        "Authorization": f"Bearer {TOKEN}",
        "Tenant-Name": TENANT,
        "Content-Type": "application/json",
    },
    json={
        "system": ["icdo3fr"],
        "context": [{"type": "text", "text": "Compte rendu anatomopathologique: histologie confirmant un adénocarcinome mucineux, invasif, du colon ascendant. Stade tumoral pT3, N0, M0. Aucune métastase identifiée. Grade 2."}],
    },
)
response.raise_for_status()
print(response.json())
```

```bash title="cURL" theme={null}
# Replace these with your values
ENVIRONMENT="<eu-or-us>"
TENANT="<your-tenant-name>"
TOKEN="<your-access-token>"
curl -X POST "https://api.${ENVIRONMENT}.corti.app/v2/tools/coding/" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer ${TOKEN}" \
  -H "Tenant-Name: ${TENANT}" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "system": ["icdo3fr"],
    "context": [{"type": "text", "text": "Compte rendu anatomopathologique: histologie confirmant un adénocarcinome mucineux, invasif, du colon ascendant. Stade tumoral pT3, N0, M0. Aucune métastase identifiée. Grade 2."}]
  }'
```

>
> SDK examples will follow once the JavaScript and .NET SDKs support ICD-O-3. Use the REST API directly in the meantime.

## Dual-axis coding

Every tumor is returned as a paired topography code (anatomical site, e.g., `C18.2`) and morphology code (histological type and behavior, e.g., `8480/3`). See the [ICD-O-3 overview](https://docs.corti.ai/coding/icd-o-3) for the behavior suffixes.

## Language support

The French edition works best in French. No translation step is required; the model processes the input text directly.
